Wow has it been dead in here. Let us all know what you have been up to lately, RC related or not. Myself, its been all about WORK. Next week I am headed out of town for the week again. Oh the fun of the samll town of Charles City, Iowa. Granted I am loving my new job. It's so nice to be able to pay the bills again, and even have a little left over when they are all taken care of. Hummm, maybe soon I will even be able to get myself a new brushless buggy.

Recently bought a Castle BEC and Savox 1268mg high voltage servo for the truggy. OMG the steering is so strong and responsive now. 361oz/in and speed is .09/60* at 7.4v. OMG so fast. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow at the track. I'm going to beat on the "racers" with their dialed in stuff. I'm gonna be the bruiser with the fastest, heaviest thing on the track. Mwahahahah!!! I love pinning the truggy on 6S when it has traction. Got the torque limiting on the ESC dialed in for 6S so I can pin it and it gives it JUST enough throttle to almost lift the front tires. I'm considering a Nexx8 to continue my OFNA collection. I recently sold off the Jammin X1 Buggy, the 9.5 MBX w/ PBS and my Inferno GT. A MMM 2650kv system on 4S should rip and give about 15-20m of runtime with 5000mah batteries. I really like its motor forward design with saddle packs. I absolutely love that configuration on my truggy. I'm so glad I didn't wimp out and try to avoid the saddle pack conversion. The handling that way is incredible. So much steering. Have to be careful with braking though as the rear end may come around if the rear unloads. www.nitrohouse.com/Car-Kits-Electric-1/8-Buggy/c28_396/p22849/OFNA-Nexx8-Electric-1/8-Buggy-Kit/product_info.htmlI also like that its only $250 out the door as a kit. Just need to provide your own motor/radio system. It will also accept many of the X2 upgrade parts.

And I also spent some coin on suspension and steering upgrades for the TransAm. A full set of UMI Performance Rotojoint suspension components for the rear of the car. The old polyurethane bushings were binding at extreme cornering limits. I also bought a Lee's 670 power steering gear, and sent my PS pump in to be rebuilt and calibrated for the new gear. Variable assist based on VSS signal feedback so at higher speeds the steering will load up and require more effort. Also a much more accurate steering box so I'll be able to put the car exactly where I want it. Can't wait to track the car this year at Road America. 4.1 miles of high-speed automotive heaven. I will be buying a Fayes2 Watts Link though to replace the panhard next year. Should improve cornering grip immensely.

The Rotojoint parts were the cheaper of the two. The steering box is about $620 all said and done with the PS pump calibration cost in there. The UMI Rotojoint package was $460 for chromoly. Will probably be buying their roto-joint front A-arms and solid bearing upper strut mounts to reduce steering deflection further. But these are parts I want to replace, not that I need. So budget allowing this car will continue to Evolve each year. Sadly, even with the chromoly option I'm adding about 17lbs to the car with the UMI stuff. But I'm saving 3lbs with the Lee's 670lbox! Still a net gain, but the precision gained in suspension movment and steering will ultimately offset any weight gains. I also just pulled the trigger on a full set of shoes. Nitto NT05 summer tires. Should allow for 1G+ cornering grip. Wheels are being powdercoated by a friend who's in the biz. I have the exact same wheels as my friend, here's his wheel powder coated. They look amazing. And its powdercoating so the finish is extremely durable.

Spending the money is almost stressful. I spent so long saving it up, and now i'm watching those balances in the "toy fund" account fall fast.
Happens in the New Year every Jan/Feb though. I start buying parts like mad, and liquidating old stuff for new.
