Slight change, I will be running a 4s lipo for now. From what I have been informed, the 8XL will overheat on a 5s.

Niel, you should get an external BEC, this will significantly reduce temps on the controller. Rc-monster.com has some good prices on external BECs, Castle makes one too.
Also, its probably a typo, but you'd want to run the 2x 2s lipo packs in series, not parallel for a 4s pack. Running Parallel would double the capacity rating on the pack, but it would still be 2s.

Opps, you are right about the typo Bill. Thank you.
I was considering looking at getting an external BEC, but wasn't sure how that would work considering the MMM V3 has a built in one.

Whenever you step the voltage down, it creates some heat. Normally this can be bled off by the ESC itself. But when you are running hot, using an external system takes a load off the ESC, and the externals are usually much more efficient too.
I think its like $15 or $20.
It should help you out.

Update: When I got home today, my motor clamp and pinion were in the mailbox!!! Then I was down here looking the buggy over and realized that I wasn't happy with the battery tray. I happened to see an old Stampede chassis laying in one of my parts pile, so I grabbled the tools and did some modding to it. This thing is sturdy now. Also, here are some pics of the body I painted last night.

Well, I got the motor today. I think I need to reprogram cuz I am not getting the top speed I want. The thing has jut a ton of punch off the line tho. It will cook all 4 tires. Once I get my top end figured out, it is gunna be a blast.
I also came across a deal last night for a 10XL motor nd pinion assortment. This way I can get a little more speed hehehehe.

AWD = Never enough power. Buggies are so low they really don't wheelie. Just 4 wheel drift. Niel, if you go crazy with power, I suggest adding a 2ch gyro aka a drift box it'll help keep the power pointed in the right direction.
