So i decided to try to fit my tnx tranny in one of my chassis and use my HPI BB with a mock up motor mount to see what i could do with it before i jumped on a new chassis.... I think i can! Pics... original the way i bought it this week... To now: Before i drill and mount i need to get TNX diffs and center shafts so i get the measurement right. I just hope they are the right lengths in general! As you can see i think i have enough room for a rear header.... well see.

If a big block fits in a maxx it should fit the Tamiya... Can't wait to see how it goes...

LOL no the TC had a crappy .18. The TNX had an OS version .18 which was much better. Mine a combo of the 2 i think will probably have an Axial .28 when i am done..... maybe a XTM 457 I found those on clearance for 109. The Axial i can get for 115 locally. Right now i am waiting on parts to arrive so i can finish mounting it all. The Ofna mount i grabbed on ebay i think may be to wide.....

ok some update pics. The ofna mount was too wide. So in my search for a good mount i actually won the 5.2 TNX chassis, mount, and elect boxs. So it is going together much smoother. I am waiting for Mr. Postman to deliver my clutch parts. The stock TNX 3.0 and TC spur are the same pitch as my n-rusty which is 32. I found that the MGT is also. That will help for the clutch. Tamiya has limited gearing options and crappy clutch shoes. I am going to use the stock plastic TC 43 tooth spurs for now with the .21 motor for lower gearing. Once i get the engine i want i also picked up the TNX steel spur. The steel 35 tooth spur i have been told is revo pitch which i believe is the same as Savy. So again gearing is solved as long as the clutch bell is deap enough. The engine in it is only temp to make sure it all works. I still have not picked an engine yet and even thought about having A&B Mods do their magic to the HPI 21 I have. Not sure if it would be worth while on that old engine. Measurements are 21 1/2" bumper to bumper. 16" wide. Looks goofy with the small t-maxx tires. They will do for now. Still need pull cord for engine, better pipe, steering servo, body, and fail safe. The 5.2 tnx radio and RX has a fail safe built in so i am watching them on ebay to. pics: Just to show the TC chassis is he same length as the 5.2. And for a comparison shot of length between my rusty and TNX
