1/4", not to be nosy, but what for? That's pretty thick. How much would you need?

That's a lot of 1/4" alumn for a chassis. I built one out of 3/16" and it was plenty thick enough. You could type in alumn sheeting in a search engine and find what you are looking for. I will try to stop by my supplier in the next day or so and see what I can do. It may not be exact dementions.

does anyone know where i can get some cheap 1/4" allumunum? Try OnlineMetals.com . The stuff that you get at HomeDepot or Lowes is very soft and would bend. Another place you can get it is on ebay; do a search for FORTAL. (Fortal is 7075 T6) If you don't see what you want there, try mousebar.com.

The guy wants too much money for the 1/4" alumn because it's not used as much in his shop and the peices he has are too big and would have to be cut down rendering them not as useful. I think you should consider a thinner sheet. !/4" is a lot of weight for a 1/8. What gear boxes are you gonna use?
