ok i have plans to do this to a stock clod that will be lowerd and run with smaller tires and wheels and a custom lowerd chasis but any way what i plan on doing is instead of using shocks i am gonna use servos and with a 6 channel radio and reciever and make it a low rider you know so it will be able to ride with one wheel off the ground , or rais the rear end just like hydrolics on a real car think it will work or not right now i am awaiting a clod i bought and am kinda desighning how to run the servos so they function correctly

I was gonna do that before but i was going to use a small pnuematic system. I think it was airtonics who had a lot of small like air tanks and stuff but it was just to expensive to do. Servos would work, if you had some kind of way they would move something up and down. let us know how it goes, Marc

its been done but its alot easier to do it with an independent truck. What makes sold axles so good for crawling makes them bad for this purpose. When you lift one wheel you apply leverage to the other. so think about how it would lookin in the wheel wells when one side is up and the other is down. independent will allow for movement stright up and stright down.
The guy who did it used servos to. Another way to do it is to make an electrical acuator but that doesnt provide proportional control.

there is a model car down here in mississippi at the hobby town that has a U shaped axle. A motor with a pully pulls a string which pulls up on the axle and the wheels go up and down. Kinda crude but it does the trick.
Also radio shack has a truck that moves up and down. I doubt they would be of much help design wise though.

well you could solid mount the center of the axles with a pivot point and that would reduce the amount of force you would have to apply to raise one side. But that would reduce the realism of the rig because you couldn't raise/lower the entire car. But if you think about all the bros driving the 6 4's impalas and junk the rear axel is a solid axel. but hey what the hell I'd do it if i had the money. %^&* it now you got me thinkin.........................ooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww my head hurts

the impala does have a solid rear axle but its on a link system so it can move stright up as well as twist. The two channel would work but you would only be able to move two wheels.
