Several of us here on RCMX have diabetes, myself have been dealing with Type 1 for over 30's of my life. Its been hard but each day brings a better understanding of the desease. Recently I found out Others have it as well, both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and we would like to hear from others about what they go through. Maybe a Recipe, or an experience you may have that could help all of us..
Thanks guys Tom

Far as sugar free deserts. My favorite so far (I havent experimented much) is Chocolate pie. I use 2 boxes of sugar free instant pudding mix, grahm cracker crust and cool whip. It's great! I finish off the pie in like 2 days lol. For cookies, I havent really took the time yet to find a good ol home-made receipe. I usually just buy the worthmans sugar free cookies at walmart.

Yeah, I have heard that about splenda. My wife is a R/N now so she has all these medical books. I am confused about splenda because it is made from pure sugar...yet it's great for diabetics. One of those things that makes you go hmmmm.

The calories have been refined out, allowing for it to flavor food but not add to extra sugar to the diet.

Yeah. I eat a few m&m's, or half a 3 muskateer bar just to satisfy my craving. I have to take 1 500mg pill a day. My blood sugar at it's lowest has been 109. Higest has been like 290. Chineese food spikes it up real quick! According to my meter, my 7 day average is 190. Not where it should be, But I will accept it.

Takes some time and sometimes I walk around the block or do something active to help lower my blood sugar..
