wait no that depends cause the house's do go from number 1-100. None have 9's on the doors who has numbers on there doors.

You are supposed to assume that the houses are number 1-100, or if you want 0-99 as it really doesn't make a difference in the final count.
Most people in person say 9, 19, 29, 39, 49, 59, 69, 79, 89, and 99.
But its really 9, 19, 29, 39, 49, 59, 69, 79, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, and 99.
And some people take the 99, and think of it as TWO 9's for a total of 20. but the question is how man HOUSES have a 9 on the door, not how many 9's are there.

Here's another 2 to make people feel stupid (or yourself as i've been caught by this one)
1. Get a friend. Now, say this quickly, don't let them think about the answer but rather whatever comes to their mind first (speed is the key).
Ask them to spell Pots backwards 5 times fast.
Then ask them what they do when they come to a green light.

The other one is ask them to say Silk five times in a row very quickly.
Then ask What do cows drink?
I gaurentee if you'll get someone and they'll actually NOT realize they've given the wrong answer.
