OK everyone, I want to get a project car going. 1:10 scale electric rally car. I was thinking this for my base. It has a plastic tubbed frame that would help keep gravel out along with other junk out while running through muck. I just want a good base starter that I can build off of, I don't want to start fancy. Reason for the new project is my boss has an actual rally car that I'm going to make a mini of so when we go to events and car shows it'd be cool to have a mini-me that actually goes. Also, if anyone knows a place that carrys a TON of bodies let me know. I'm looking for a mkII VW GTI body that looks like this... Thanks, Garrett

The body you're going to have a hard time finding, you might have to find a custom made one or see if tamiya or kyosho has a kit car like that, as far as a base starter, if you can find the HPI rs4 rally edition, all you'ld really need is the body

That kit looks great, but it's discontinued and I don't see anyone that has it.
I'm still open for ideas. I'm leaning towards Tamiya, I've got a few friends that use them and love them. And they're cheaper than HPI's.

I set up a hpi spint 2 for rally. Still have the tires. It ran perfect but the bulkheads break like butter and are VERY hard to get. Unless you felt ambitious enough to make some out of aluminum.

Tamiya is the best bet.
Body wise you will have to settle for another body hpi makes several bodies for rally as well as proline and Dahms bodies...

If you can find an Associated TC3, the hobby shop near my house has the rally conversion for it for like $50! I would be more then happy to help you out with it. I race TC on a professional level. As for the body, Tom's right check out Tamiya.

Thanks George.. I think Tamiya may have made in the past a VW Rabbit or Golf at one time
