Hey Camp!
Rail looks good bro. Nice handy work for sure. I'm still going to be curious about how that tranny is going to work out. My biggest concern is you want both tires planted and hooked up. If one grabs while the other slips, you could launch off the line in an immediate right or left taking you to the wall. Remember, you want off the line fast and in a straight line. Anything outside of those barriers and you just DNF'ed and crashed your rail.
As for traction, they will treat the track with VHT or grape soda, then you add KoFords traction compound to the tires directly. That will help with the traction - less burnout and more get up and go off the line. But even with that, I still question what will happen when you place full throttle to that tranny......let us know how the test run goes.

Wow that is cool! Hey, is the header going to cause issues being to long and o you think the tires will balloon hitting the chassis?

well all went well it lanches hard but it pulls the the left a little.I plan on doing a little more tuning and putting some weight on the right side to see if I can get it to shoot strate.I did not get to take a video it got dark on me.I will try to take some tomorrow.
I will keep you posted

I will keep you posted Camp, Put some putty in the tranny and lock that thing up tight. That ought to remove the LSD effect and give you more power being put into both tires. Muck is also right about the header. Most nitro drags are cutting the fins/heads in half, taking the top half of the head off. Reason being is that it heats the motor up quicker and places a lot more power down faster. You are only talking about 132' run so don't worry about it overheating. GIT R DUN!!! PD2

any idea on the speed range for it I am not sure I am still testing I have not got it in second gear yet.The ones that I have seen on line run 132' in 1.8 sec at about 80 mph.I know mine wont run that fast but we will see.

LSD = Limited Slip Differential Basically allows the wheels to spin at different speeds during cornering off power. Where an Open diff sends power to the unloaded wheel (inside wheel) and spins like crazy, a LSD will take power away from the unloaded wheel so that it doesn't slip and apply it to the outside wheel which has grip.
The basic net effect is that under hard acceloration it almost locks the differential, but while cornering it allows some differential between the inside and outside tires.

I did not realize that - thought you had left the gearing in that tranny. Well, something is making it grab and pull. It maybe the rotating mass of the engine or something. Wait......were you running the tires dry and the ground dry? Meaning, did you put any traction compound on the ground and run KoFord on the tires? If not, that maybe why it did what it did. When we first started running the drags locally, we did not have VHT for the asphalt and no KoFord for the tires and a lot of cars needed correction off the line. If that was the case, then you are fine for right now - wait till you are running on traction treated tires and ground - it will launch straight and go! PD2

yep it was all dry no compound on anything Yeah, before you mess with anything else, do another run, except this time, treat the ground where you run with grape soda (next best thing to VHT) and then grab some KoFords and spread that on those rear tires and then see what that thing does. I think you will get some correction then. PD2

Definitely until it is not wet looking any more. If you can, pour the soda into a sprayer, like an insect sprayer or garden type sprayer and use that to spray it like a fine mist all off the area you will run - that will allow it to dry quicker, but still get some treatment of the surface down too. Don't forget traction compound for those tires too. KoFords is the stickiest and best, but if you don't have any of that, snag some Paragon or whatever might be heavy in consistency. Good luck on your next run!! PD2

sweet is right. I still wanna see some rubber tires burning out and smoke on an r/c. lol If he gets to a treated track and puts some KoFord on the tires, he may just get that and the front end of that thing to lift up too. Nice run Camp! I just snagged a car to build an inexpensive Bracket racer. I'll post up some pics of my project as I get started. PD2
